The premier cooking school in London

Our cookery school in London has been designed by Michel Roux Jr to teach and inspire beginners and accomplished cooks alike. We offer a range of classes, from essential practical skills to master classes with Michel and a host of award winning chefs.

OUR SCHOOL

Our cooking classes are hands-on, small, fun, friendly and unintimidating. You’ll be taught by hand-picked, talented chefs with a wealth of expertise and experience, who share Michel's philosophy and passion.

Our cooking experiences teach you how to transform top quality, simple ingredients into delicious meals that you can replicate in your own kitchen.

Besides our timetabled cooking courses, our welcoming, well-equipped kitchen provides the perfect venue for private groups, corporate entertaining or inspirational team-building events, tailored to your specifications.

Coupled with the use of our charming dining room, our kitchen also makes a stylish and versatile space for your shoot or product launch and is available for private hire.

OUR STORY

Tucked under the eaves of a former chapel in South West London, The Michel Roux Jr Cookery School at Cactus Kitchens is a short distance from where the eponymous chef grew up and still lives.

Our unique site dating back to 1834 has been the home of Cactus TV since 2012. Cactus TV is the independent production company behind BBC One's longest running Saturday morning programme, Saturday Kitchen Live and many other entertainment shows.

Managing Director Amanda Ross, also a local resident and passionate cook, wanted to create a space where viewers could cook alongside their favourite TV chefs. Michel Roux Jr loved the idea and Cactus Kitchens was born.

At The Michel Roux Jr Cookery School entertainment and cooking go hand in hand. Established in 2013, our school has fast become a destination for keen cooks and amateur chefs seeking insight, inspiration and instruction from a host of culinary luminaries.
