Mochatini Cocktail

We've experimented extensively to get the perfect mochatini. Whilst it's not as frothy as the traditional espresso martini, it has a smooth and rich body thanks to the Irish cream and a delightful kick from the vodka - it is a martini after all!

During the day Rosie Jones might be Maître d' here at Cactus Kitchens, but off-duty she loves a great cocktail and dabbling in the world of mixology...

Whilst an espresso martini is a delicious and slightly bitter aperitif, a great twist is adding chocolate to add sweetness and mellow out the bitter flavours. Whilst drinking coffee after 5pm might feel a little dangerous, it might just give you the secret upper hand so you can host your dinner party and keep your guests entertained all evening.

Mochatini Cocktail Mochatini Cocktail

  • cocktail shaker
  • jigger
  • strainer
  • 2 Martini glasses
  • plenty of ice

  • 50ml Baileys Chocolat Luxe
  • 12ml Kahlúa coffee liqueur
  • 25ml vodka
  • 50ml freshly brewed espresso
  • 3 coffee beans, to garnish

First, add a scoop of ice to the martini glasses to chill them.

Using the jigger, add the measures of Baileys, Kahlúa, vodka and cooled espresso into a cocktail shaker.

Fill the shaker with ice and put on the lid. Now shake as vigorously as you can - this will create a light foam on the top of the drink.

Discard the ice from the martini glasses and using a cocktail strainer, pour equally between the two glasses. Garnish with the coffee beans and serve.
